Is It A Storm?

It is late evening, the sun is moving towards the horizon where it will disappear for the night. You hear a familiar sound and look out your window to see the leaves rustling on the tree. You did your due diligence earlier by checking the NOAA forecast app for your location, then a quick look at your weather app for the next 10 days to see what is expected weatherwise. Not a single mention of wind for today. Looking at the inside weather monitor for the outside weather station, the wind velocity specifically. It reads zero wind in the past few minutes but a slight 2 mph currently. The barometer still shows a strong high pressure and all other measurements are as NOAA and the weather app forecast. Yet, the leaves are moving. Not the branches; only the leaves. You return to your Bible reading - Luke 21:11 – ““And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful sights and great signs from heaven.” What? You check your Interlinear and sure enough ‘fearful sights’ means terrifying and signs from heaven the sky where the clouds and our skies are located. 

The sound of leaves blowing in a stiff breeze is a beautiful sound in an otherwise quiet moment and your ears tell you ‘every breathing thing PRAISE GOD!’ You’ve always loved that sound because you know moving leaves and branches in a non threatening way is just the trees doing their part to bring glory to GOD. But, as the motion of the ‘breeze’ picks up and branches begin to move – again, NOT part of the forecast – your mind begins to move to a more ominous verse Romans 8:22: “For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now.” The foreboding of this verse makes your tummy flip. 

You double check all your data, currently, still no mention of winds. You have no clear view of the horizon from inside as the trees obscure the view. Being able to see the horizon provides clues like stormy clouds, lightning and perhaps even a rain squall moving your way. Walking outside you seek an elevated unobstructed view. Your eyes behold a heart stopping vision. Right at the line of the horizon where it blends with the sky, the darkest clouds your eyes have ever seen. NO LIGHTNING! In between you and the clouds a debris field of low lying nondescript matter. ‘Birth pangs’ pops in your mind. Where have you seen birth pains before? Matt 24:8 “All these are but the beginning of the birth pains.” 

For months headlines have been appearing via social media and online news sources about ‘wars’ and of course the ‘rumors’, like all of a sudden mutually agreed destruction is no longer on the table with ‘nuclear’, weapons being made, being moved around strategically for maximum impact and nations improving their war arsenals. So, ✓ that ‘sign’. Then, you have new viruses all over the world, and old ones reappearing. Another ✓. Oh, and cannot forget ‘food shortages’, yep definite ✓ on that. Next up in Matthew 24 is verse 9 and the whole putting Jesus followers to death most assuredly a king size ✓ on that one. Where is this leading and what do the leaves and branches portend? If we are seeing ‘birth pains’ then perhaps it is creation’s sort of ‘lamaze breathing’ trying to sort and bear up through the distress. Like a groaning. The Bible uses the word groaning in Romans 8:22 & 23 as a ‘moaning jointly’ or common calamity. What could that mean?

The same Lord, Jesus, who answered HIS followers as to what they could expect to see when the ‘end of the age’ approached at Matthew 24, also gave a very detailed, dare I say vivid, description of what would come about at a specific time in the future. Reading Rev 8:7, anguish comes upon the earth in this very descriptive way: “The first angel blew his trumpet, and there followed hail and fire, mixed with blood, and these were thrown upon the earth. And a third of the earth was burned up, and a third of the trees were burned up, and all green grass was burned up.” This follows a harrowing ride of four colorful horses and their riders bring their own torture to humans globally effectively removing peace, causing more food shortages, dragging death and hades through the earth back in Chapter 6. Then from chapter 8 going forward chapter after chapter horror fills the earth in unimaginable ways. Prior in Chapter 6, there are frightful things happening in the skies! The entire population no matter their station in life are “calling to the mountains and rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of him who is seated on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb,” verses 12-17. So it starts early in Chapter 6 but by Chapter 8 nothing can stop what continues to come. 

Wow! I snapped back to my reality. Musing, things are hastening outside. Except for the movement of trees in my close proximity, the horizon and all the distance between it and myself – while most alarming, I knew innately there was something else that would come before all these things the mind conjured up and it is to happen before “... the wrath of the Lamb,”. Who will be affected by the wrath of the lamb? “But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.” Luke 21:23 

What happens to those who do not fit within the context of justification by the Lamb’s shed blood, the ones saved from the wrath? Clearly, the Bible is very specific and the answer to this question can be found in each of the Chapters of Revelation starting from Chapter 5 all the way to the last verse of Revelation. If you dilly-dally about your commitment to the ONE GOD who put into play HIS plan for all mankind your portion of HIS plan is spelled out with great specificity. Time is ‘not’ on anyone’s side. None of us know when we take our last breath here and step into eternity. Please consider the following portion with intent. 

“34 But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly. 35 “For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. 36“Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.” Luke 21:34-36

What is necessary to escape all these things? “Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.” Romans 5:9

Words of hope: “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.

“In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 2 “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. 3 “And where I go you know, and the way you know.” 4 Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?” 5 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” – John 14:1-6

THERE IS A STORM COMING! The Bible is very clear on this matter from the pages of the Old Testament through the last verse of the New Testament. There is nothing you can do to dodge the effects of the storm EXCEPT being a ‘born again’ Christ Follower. Escaping the wrath of GOD is a thing. Not escaping is also a thing. Please make every effort to be found in the Lamb’s Book of Life by way of the shed blood of Jesus, the Savior, Redeemer and High Priest for those who believe.

“15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.16 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.”--John 3:15-16

For those who do not accept the invitation at John 3:15- 16 – is this you? – There is a different reality: ““He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”- John 3:18

If you too are noticing the atmosphere around you is beginning to change, or you are moaning together what does this mean for you? Your deliverance from the wrath to come is imminent!

Obedience and FEAR

For many years mankind has dealt with external pressures compressing the people on this planet. All of it is contrived but not all by man. For the most part, man via self exaltation or via government exaltation has been the unwitting victim of the ‘shadowy figure’ who works behind the scenes manipulating individuals, groups, governments, churches, politics, cultural et al. 

In January 2020 the first ever worldwide viral infection in the age of technology left its place of origin and was transported via planes, trains, and you know the rest. By the time it reached Italy the contagion factor and the health assault factor spawned daily death reports which like a wildfire with the biggest cross wind blew the virus to all points of the globe with one continent in particular the last to be contaminated, Africa. From the beginning of 2020 through all of 2021 and into 2022 the ‘pandemic’ was the single most focus of every human within hearing distance of any device. It drove changes on a global scale unlike any our generation has ever seen. For the first time it gave tangible meaning to the ‘good of the many outweigh the good of the one’ the statement a fictional character from a movie franchise made to another to explain why he was willing to give his own life as the only means to save his crew. That thinking is surely a noble sentiment. In fact, the Bible states “Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.” – John 15:13

The ‘fear factor’ attached to the virus also changed our innate sense of freedom and choice as it forced conformity through obedience. There is no doubt those who began to conform initially did so  out of ignorance because this strange virus seemed to be a huge killer. So, as the ‘authorities’ began to strategize for a one size fits all approach to nip it in the bud, they laid down a blanket of practices to first try and prevent getting or passing the virus from  one to another. Wash your hands, distance yourselves from others, stay in your home unless you had to go out for groceries, meds, you know the ‘essentials’, That seemed to put the world  populace in a stationary place giving the authorities some much needed breathing room to deal with what they did not know by insisting on what they did know would at least stimy the contagion somewhat. In the U.S. there were so many conflicting and contradicting reports, statements, analysis, if your head wasn’t spinning from being infected it was surely busy moving fast with the minute to minute commentary on the 24/7 cable news, with the daily briefings from all the different heads of state. DEATH was quantified each day with visual graphs, with federal, state, local and global statistics on daily and cumulative deaths from the initial onset of the virus and  later by the numbers of people infected mostly as reported by the various healthcare facilities and their caseload. 

An interesting phenomenon just went from zero to speed of light in a few short weeks that slowed the sense of time, or at least the passage of it, to a creep. It was like being in a horror movie that seemed to have no end. No amount of popcorn, candy or soda seemed to hasten the end. We sat on our couches glued to the information source day after day, month after month until by midyear 2020 a semblance of a former life began to introduce variety into our lives again. We could step outside without looking both ways for the virus, so long as we wore our masks which of course had a false start early on when they were deemed useless against the virus and then were deemed essential. SIDEBAR: We dried some garlic to grind into powder because everytime we purchased it the powder became a hard lump. While my husband was grinding it in our coffee grinder the cap slipped off a tad and powder flew up in his face. He stopped it. Grabbed his mask from his jacket and resumed again. Unfortunately, there was so much fine dust just outside the cap when he started the grinder a bunch flew up  in his face again and guess what WENT STRAIGHT THROUGH HIS MASK like it wasn’t even there! Now, wisdom, or just plain common sense tells you the ground garlic powder is way bigger than the aerosolized virus that is ejected into the air. Imagine if you will, a person who went with the ‘masks are useless’ [the ones everyone was grabbing to wear at first]  against the virus as a matter of scientific reality to see the ineffectiveness of the mask, quite by accident. Confirmation that it was sound science. 

Society around the world was told the masks would keep granny from catching the disease and dying. You don’t want to kill granny. So, in charitable and sincere obedience, based on the masks stopping the spread to others along with social distancing, people donned a mask. Initially, not knowing was a legitimate reason for wearing the mask. But eventually, the mask mandates dropped and only those who had decided to wear them because of a deep rooted sense they did not want to kill granny remained masked. Comes a huge change in 2021. The miracle of the vaccination. Everyone should get the two initial inoculations because it would keep you from getting the dread virus. However, by then, a year of a contagious virus had pretty much visited most of the populace and they fared and remained living just as actual scientists said they would. Yes, there were too many deaths. Yes, it affected some seriously and with lasting health issues thereafter. That stat however was much smaller than those who got it and got over it within a couple of weeks. Naturally [acquired] immunity intact. The body’s own inoculation. And to be honest, the only inoculation because as it turned out, just about the time a good sized swath of the folks living in the U.S. had received their requisite 2 shots the next new variant of the virus made its way around the world and the vaccinated were getting it. Oops, now a booster was required and no, the shots were not inoculation. Again, OBEDIENCE and FEAR caused masses to get their booster. Then, right on que, the next variant and YEP you guessed it the booster did not stop it. BUT, now the consolation prize is no one is dying from it. Yet, those who got it and hadn’t been vaxxed got over it without dying too. So there’s that.  Many who had immunity from having the initial virus and not vaccinated were not getting any of the variants. 

So obedience and fear. What about that. Well, there is a sensible side to being conscientious about obedience. For instance, running through a red light without line of sight for cross traffic, not obeying the law to stop, has the potential for deadly consequences but not just to the offender. But a healthy fear of respecting laws and lives is a positive affirmation to the discerning person. The man deemed to be the wisest man on earth during his lifetime, King Solomon recorded in the final chapter of his book called Ecclesiastes the following statement: “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, For this is man's all.” – Ecc 12:13

For the Christian this pearl of wisdom is a protection: “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,” –2 Cor 10:4-5

We know that Christ himself learned obedience: “who, in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications, with vehement cries and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death, and was heard because of His godly fear, 8though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered. 9And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him,”--Heb 5:7-9 The right kind of obedience is based on GOD and done not from ‘fear’ as in trembling, but fear as in reverence. 

Those Christians who have taken a stand during this viral occupation understand and believes in this statement: “So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.”-- Heb 13:6

For those who love GOD and want to be obedient to their conscience as they believe it is made new by the Holy Spirit, they understand this pure statement of fact: “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love” – 1 John 4:18

Finally, if you are a Christian who is living in obedience to your conscience know this: “But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:”-- 1 Pet 3:15

Lastly, no condemnation is intended in the writing of this article to anyone who truly volunteered to be vaccinated thinking it was going to ease the sense of fear having the virus created in the mind and heart. None whatsoever. We live in a time when people get vaccinations routinely and some annually for any number of reasons. To the extent the shots work and most do we have grown to accept the help of a shot to keep us well. However, this particular vaccination failed to meet the historic record and many have suffered serious side effects while still getting every variant that comes along. No condemnation. However, to get the shot under the guise of keeping granny from dying or doing it for the good of the many and not because you believed it would work is folly. And leads to crippling fear. Check out the newest realization online that people have now lived at a sudden instant of fear beyond the instant into now 24 months of the unrelenting droning of data and statements that tomorrow, holidays, outside gatherings, inside gatherings, are all super spreader events and especially now with evidence the vaccinations in all its iterations is fruitless when it comes to being immune and are now suffering crippling health issues related to stress. I would say, there will no doubt be a time with a version of PVTSD. Time now to truly apprise yourself of some traditional and logical thinking and relax out of the fear that keeps coming at you. GOD HAS THIS! Remember, Job? Purposeful afflictions, long lasting, prayed to return to dust, disenchanted he’d ever been born. Tormented by the Devil personally, by his friends and wife and his own body. But, he always knew there was ONE with the ability to deliver him from his situation. Each of us takes from Job’s experience whatever GOD wants us to understand. Yet, the bottom line, he ended up with a complete family, all his business assets replaced, with more, as if paid with interest, his skin like brand new skin, over a hundred more years to live. Most importantly, an incredible one to one chat with his CREATOR whose interrogation of Job is enlightening and faith building for anyone to read and meditate upon. The virus? This too will pass. When it does, will you have spent time with GOD asking and being asked soul searching questions? Being obedient to GOD is a no brainer. Being one who shows reverence/fear of GOD is inspired rightly. The bottom line? Our freedom and choice comes from GOD not man, not government, not science, not pundits, not commentators who are tapped to say anything to fill the 24/7 news cycle and not fear mongering power thirsty men who work in our world as the puppet of the Devil in the Spirit world!

“He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.” – 1John 4:8 AMEN.

Confusion and Chaos 1 Cor 14:33

 Today’s panoramic overview of the world has caused many to feel that their lives were interrupted with automatic disorder, chaos and confusion. The ‘normal’ was radically changed by a virus that draped the globe.

The curious person who believes in a higher power, a deity, or GOD naturally questions how could this be allowed to go on for so very long all the while erasing many vestiges of freedom and routine. It is a fair question. However, a simple answer is: “For God is not the author of confusion but of peace,...” --KJV or as a more literal translation states it: “for God is not a God of tumult, but of peace,...” -- YLT

James actually records who is responsible for confusion: ‘For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.”--James 3:16

According to Strong’s the word for confusion:”STRONGS NT 181: ἀκαταστασία -- has the following definition: “instability, a state of disorder, disturbance, confusion” --ref: Blb.org

Here is what Paul wrote to Christians of his day; most definitely all the wiser admonition today. “But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.”--1Thess 5:8-11 [italics added]

Finally, this: “Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.”--1Thess 5:21

If we are busy in prayer, in study, in meditation of GOD’s Word it helps us not only make sense of ‘nonsense’ or trials but gives us solid ideas on how to resolve our lives to free ourselves of the confusion, chaos and disorder. †

Tired of being ruled by man? Ecc 8:9b

If you are feeling futile, helpless, lacking direction, like the world is against you please understand to a certain degree those feelings are by design. By whom? Not GOD!

The master deceiver has taken full advantage of human frailty and desire to be ruled and has for eons delivered injury for those tendencies time and time again. This time is no different. However, GOD has already put in place the best innoculation against the manifold viruses and other machinations the dragon, Satan, has put and will put upon man to man's injury. How?

You can break free with the knowledge,understanding and faith that Jesus came and demonstrated the power HE has over hunger, sickness of all kinds, disabilities, dark forces via demons and the devil, poverty, mental health, nature and more. Reading the Bible helps you see how Christ corrected circumstances in many lives in the 3 1/2 short years HE lived on earth. 

The thing is, HE had to die, be resurrected and then ascend to Heaven to deliver the saving power of HIS blood to cover our sins and put belivers on the path to eternity with HIM! †

Most of the world of humankind has been affected by a virus that did not develop by accident. Some have grieved deeper and longer for the theft of life of loved ones; the theft of income from lockdowns and the theft of freedoms from the concept of 'the greater good'. Thus, man in fact has afflicted himself and others compounding the devil's own wiles by exerting power, 'best motives', control, etc. YET, in CHRIST, we are free. Even death does not rob us of our life, our freedom, our health, etc., because HE died so that we may live if we believe in HIM.

It is written: "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." -- Heb 10:9

It is also written: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

Seeking guidance from Angels? Gal 1:8

Theme Verses

 “But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed.”--Gal 1:8,9

Let’s talk.

What does the word ‘accursed’ mean in the instance of the scripture above? It is defined in the following publication found at https://www.blueletterbible.org/ this way:

a man accursed, devoted to the direst woes

Discussion

Many are fascinated with ‘Angels’ as a whole, some a lot more than curious. But, the Bible is clear as to what and who Angels are and how they serve GOD as they interact with humans. They are considered “a messenger, envoy, one who is sent, an angel, a messenger from God” as such quite differently in many verses. {See Strong's Greek Lexicon word G32} In all cases they are sent FROM GOD period. Not at our beck and call, not to serve us while here on earth, not to be an intermediary between us and GOD, not to act as some shaman between the natural and supernatural.

It is true that in Psalm 91 in particular verse 11 the following is said: “ For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.” Let me draw your attention to the whole of the 91st Psalm. In the first two verses there is something we must do in order to experience the promises from GOD which are listed in the rest of the Psalm, #11 being among those verses. So, you must '...dwell in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.' -- Psa 91:1,2

You having done your part then understand it is GOD, not you, who then commands HIS angels to guard you in all your ways! 

Back to the import of the theme verses, apparently, for the Church of Galatia, after it was established by the Apostle Paul, under the ONE Gospel, it seems thereafter to have been perhaps diluted, twisted, replaced or in some other way changed to ‘another’ gospel. Paul admonished the Church then and it stands to this day, if he, himself, or an angel was to come and preach a contrary gospel let that person be accursed. Or, as it actually meant in Paul’s day, a person devoted to DIREST WOES!

Summation 

As you carefully ‘search the scriptures’ ‘rightly dividing the Word’ be careful not to be caught up in some cultural, or faddish idea that angels are to do our bidding. It is proper to thank GOD as HE faithfully guards us in all our ways. We do not command the angels, as some do, to sit atop the four corners of our vehicle to guide us safely through our commute. We understand that guarding us in all our ways includes our commute as already being faithfully commanded by GOD.

If you have become a believer in Jesus, our LORD, Saviour, High Priest, King, please remember the gospel you were taught; Jesus Died for our sins, was resurrected to life on the 3rd day and ascended to Heaven. Thus the truth of the words at John 3:16 are true: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”  Typically after hearing the gospel one is moved to ‘Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord’ --Acts 3:19 thereafter accepting Jesus by believing in HIM.

Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?” 5 Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ 8 The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes.
